Assessments Affect Common Core Standards: PARCC

It’s one thing to create Common Core State Standards; it’s another to assess students taught with those standards.

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is concerned with assessment and has just publically released the PARCC Model Content Frameworks in English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics.

The Model Content Frameworks serve two main purposes. They provide support and guidance for implementation of the Common Core State Standards and information that will inform the design and development of PARCC assessments in grades 3–8 and high school.

Because these directly affect assessment, you’ll want to study them carefully.
